What Should I Know About Moving To Scottsdale?
If you’re moving to Scottsdale, there are a few things you should be aware of. Things in the “relevant local news” vein that you might not notice if you’re currently living somewhere else. We’ve aggregated a few of these things to help you get acclimated to your new home. Also, don’t forget that you’ll need Scottsdale Renters Insurance – nearly every apartment community in town will require you to have a policy, might as well go ahead and take care of that in advance of your move.
Scottsdale Bond Package Controversy
Voters in Scottsdale will be asked to approve a bond package of over nine million dollars on Election Day. Property owners would pay an additional eleven cents for each hundred dollars of the assessed value of their home. That’s another $275 for the year on a $250,000 home – not an obscene amount of money, except when you consider the amount of taxes already paid in Scottsdale. The bonds would go to parks, transportation, technology, paving, fire, and police. The city is already in debt with over six hundred million dollars in bonds, and half are paid with sales taxes and the other half property taxes.
Many residents are concerned about the particular projects that are being considered under these bonds. You can read more about that here. At least one councilman is opposed to the bond issue.
Virtual Office Provider Expands Scottsdale Offices
If you work from home or have a small office and need meeting space once in a while, or if you’re traveling through town and need meeting or office space, you’ll be happy to know that Regus is expanding their office space facilities. Generally these facilities are available on a package or hourly basis. The fact that the demand exceeds current supply for this space means that Scottsdale is a vibrant community with a growing economy, and that makes it a great place to live and to start a business.
